Antonietta Collins

Antonietta Toni Collins is an Mexican American journalist. Her current role is an ESPN sportscaster. ESPN and is anchor for SportsCenter reports and hosts SportsNation. Since 2016, Collins has was a part of ESPN. Her mother is TV journalist Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta was bilingual from her age of nine. The ability that allowed her to get her first job as an Univision production assistant in Miami. In Miami, she collaborated with producers for National shows like Nuestra Belleza Latina Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud Primer Impacto. The next position she was offered was an Sports Reporter for the CBS St. Petersburg Affiliate. In 2009, the news reporter moved into Rio Grande Valley Texas where she was employed by KNVO TV 48 Univision as and Fox2 News. In reporting on news stories about drug trafficking and immigration across the border of Mexico and Texas. Border, she served as an anchor on the Spanish channel KNVO TV 48 at 5 pm, a news reporter on English until 9pm, after which she became a news anchor until 10pm before returning on the Spanish channel. She would also fill in occasionally as a weather and sport anchor. Deportes 23 in Dallas, Univision's station affiliated with Dallas. She was also given more responsibility. She reported on the Major League Baseball ALDS ALCS World Series, the Dallas Cowboys and NBA Postseason as well as the finals of FC Dallas FC Dallas Stars. Additionally, she was host of the local Univision 23 sports show Accion Deportiva Extra. Then, she became the sports host for the morning program on Despierta America Deportes. As a sports anchor she also worked for Primer Impacto (a network magazine) and Contacto Deportivo (a UniMas Network sports show). Antonietta Collins was born in the city of Veracruz, Mexico. The family moved from Veracruz Mexico to Mexico City where she was born on the 22nd of November, 1985. She has a sister. In 1992, the family moved to Miami following the move to Mexico to the US. Within a brief time her father divorced from her mother. She was subsequently remarried by 1995 naval architect called Fabio Fajardo. Fabio Fajardo died of kidney cancer in 2006. On a family vacation in Ohio, the younger Collins took a place alongside her elder sister. Antonietta was a senior high school student and had a clear idea of her career goals. She visited Mount Union University to determine if they suited her. As it turned out she was a fan of the university and the university offered the kind of program she was searching for. Following her graduation from her high school education, she chose to attend the University to pursue a degree in Media Studies. Mark Bergmann, her professor who was also the WRMU's 91.1FM station, where she was employed over the years, became a friend. Mark Bergmann inspired her to believe in herself and also his love for journalism deeply influenced her, and she was determined to live up to the expectations of him and not let him down.
